Our Policy on Dogs

We at the Captain Briggs House B&B want to welcome all family members, from age 0 up to 100, but to include all family members' means that we also include the family dog. In order to include the family dog, and to make sure our other guests are also comfortable, we need to set down a few rules for dogs and their pet owners.
Policies for Visiting Dogs
You must be a well behaved dog. That means:
- No continuous barking should your pet owner leave you in the room.
- House broken!
- Friendly manner. No picking fights with other dogs or snapping at other guests.
- Preferably, no sleeping with your owner in the same bed. (However, dog owners, we do recognize that some dogs have always slept with their owners, so this is not a hard and fast rule!)
Policies for Dog Owners
- Please pick up after your pet! There are trash bins in the back of the Inn for you to make your dog's deposits in. We'll handle it from there.
- Please control your dog at all times. Not all people are friendly towards dogs, although most guests are.
- If possible, please leave your dog in your room during breakfast. Again, this is not a hard and fast rule. If there are no other or very few guests in the Inn (and the other guests do not object), they may come into the Common Room during breakfast IF they are on a leash or IF they will sit and stay at your command. If we are really busy that morning, it's probably best that they stay in your room as I would not want to trip over your dog, or have another guest accidentally trip over your dog and injure your dog or the other guest or myself.
- Please, be kind to your housekeeper and brush your dog before staying with us. Alternatively, though there is no extra charge for your dog's stay, a tip is appreciated for the extra cleaning often required by our ungroomed friends.
