Your Hosts

Bev and I were born and raised in Iowa. We met in high school in our senior year in Cedar Rapids, thus making us high school sweethearts.

I actually started my career out in teaching Social Studies in Hamburg, Iowa, but after two years I realized it wasn’t for me. It was after Bev had graduated with her degree in Mathematics and started working for a company called TRW in Redondo Beach, CA that I decided to return to school to get my degree in Computer Science.

We spent nearly 6 years in the Los Angeles area before returning to Iowa with our 2 small children after the death of Bev’s father. We then spent the next 20 years raising our children, Trisha and Chris, keeping an eye on our widowed mothers, and working as software engineers at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.

We have two cats that live with us, Candace and Kathery. Ok, we are actually their staff but that is another story. They have never seen the inside of the Inn due to other people with allergies but roam the owners' residence as if they own it. If you are a pet owner you know what we mean!

Trisha lives in Akron, OH with her husband Mike. She is pursuing a degree in English with a writing minor at Kent State.

Chris lives in Ames, IA with his wife where he is pursuing a Computer Engineering degree at Iowa State University.

We’re hoping that both will graduate in 2009. AND no… no grandchildren as of yet!
