Your Hosts

Bev and I (Chuck, that is) were born and raised in Iowa. We met in high school in our senior year in Cedar Rapids, thus making us high school sweethearts.

I actually started my career out in teaching Social Studies in Hamburg, Iowa, but after two years I realized it wasn't for me. It was after Bev had graduated with her degree in Mathematics and started working for a company called TRW in Redondo Beach, CA that I decided to return to school to get my degree in Computer Science.

We spent nearly 6 years in the Los Angeles area before returning to Iowa with our 2 small children after the death of Bev's father. We then spent the next 20 years raising our children, Trisha and Chris, keeping an eye on our widowed mothers, and working as software engineers at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.

We moved here in 2006 with two cats, Cadence and Kethrie, but sadly lost Kethrie in December 2009. Cadence has free access to our residence, but has never been allowed to roam the Inn due allergies suffered by many of our guests.

Trisha lives in Akron, OH with her husband Mike. She completed her degree in English in 2009 and now works full time in marketing. After many years of trying for children, she and Mike are now pursuing adoption.

Chris graduated from college in 2009, and is now living in Pittsfield, MA with his wife, Kathy, and our grandson, Caleb Thomas, born April 30, 2010.

These days, because of the economy, I also live in Pittsfield, MA where I work for General Dynamics as a System Engineer. I commute home on the weekends. Bev runs the Inn full time and can always be reached by phone.
